Our stay was more than we had envisioned...

May 2011

Perhaps not the typical guests at Sandpiper, 6 friends from high school [gathering annually for over 20 years!] enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed 2 perfect clear days which we spent hiking, walking the beach, grilling clams and just sitting outside taking in a great view.

Our stay was more than we had envisioned and the lodgings were top notch.

Thank you for allowing us to be your guests and helping us create a great experience.

My early May visit

May 2011

I came in early may with a bunch of friends as a birthday celebration and vacation. It was absolutely fantastic. The house was easy to get to as there are only a couple roads to travel on and were all quite scenic. The house was very spacious with an excellent kitchen and a very connected dining area. We liked that we could talk between the living room and the kitchen but still have lots of space for us in any individual room. It was mostly sunny, which made the view spectacular during our wake ups and our walks along the beach. At night, both the outside fire and jacuzzi were a great treat. If you're looking to do some shopping, bellingham is only about a half hour's drive with many stores and some great places to eat. I would recommend the sandpiper to anyone getting away with a couple friends or anyone who enjoys a cozy, elegant house with the view of the ocean!

A true getaway from the stresses of life!

April 2011

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Staying at Samish Island has been a wonderful experience for us. Walking on the beach, quiet nights of beautiful scenery. A true getaway from the stresses of life! We enjoyed the bonding with our daughter and son-in-law. We spent time checking out the local shops and restaurants. A unique place! We will be back!

Most Beautiful Home We've Rented..

April 2011

"The Sandpiper was an absolute surprise for us. The minute we walked into the home, we didn't want to leave. The home was exquisite....lots of gorgeous details, beautifully decorated, comfy beds (reminded us of The Westin Hotel beds), a kitchen stocked with all amenities we needed and to top it off, a fantastic view! We were visiting colleges in Oregon and Washington and decided to stay a few days near Bellingham. This home is about a 30 minute drive from Western Washington University and 20 minutes from historic Fairhaven. ADORABLE town! We will be staying here again and again if our daughter decides to attend WWU. Thank you for a wonderful experience and making it a pet friendly home on top of it all! "

Thank you for your great service..!

March 2011

You have secured all future [family] vacation rentals and my husband has become your new southwest Virginia advertising agent. Since we have returned home he has told someone about Sandpiper on Samish at least once a day. I might add he is not easily impressed. He keeps asking "tell me again Deb how you found that place?"

We hope to see you again sooner rather than later and feel our newlyweds are likely to end up in the Puget Sound area, so chances are good we could have many years of happy vacationing with your company.

Again, thank you for your great service, extra area info and a great time!

What an amazing place!

March 2011

What an amazing place! My wife and I were looking for a quiet week before our child is born. Perfectly serene and pastoral here. Lovely beach combing, bird watching. The Oyster Bar close by for a fancy dinner with a view. Only 70 miles away from our home in Seattle, but feels like another world. We are already planning to return. Thank you so much.

The view of the Bay and Mountains were SPECTACULAR

January 2011.

We spent 3 nights here over the New Years weekend. The Management have spared no effort at paying attention to every detail. I just loved the fresh flowers that were waiting for us. The home is incredibly clean and well equipped. The master bath is pure luxury with it's jetted tub, fireplace, and flat screen TV. ( I was in Heaven ) This home was absolutely more than I had hoped for.

...even nicer than in the photos

December 2010

"I should not have been surprised after viewing the pictures, but once inside we all commented on how it seemed even nicer than in the photos. We had no problem fitting the family around the table and enjoying lovely meals together cooked in a well appointed kitchen. A drawer of several spices, and baking supplies, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, starbucks coffee beans, etc, added to the ease of feeling right at home....not to mention fresh flowers.

The master bedroom is particularly wonderful, sitting at the windows you feel like you are surrounded by the beach as you watch the birds diving and listen to the gentle waves. Fireplaces make this nice and cozy.

Whether visiting the bird sanctuary for a walk along the dike, nearby Edison, La Conner (highly recommend "Seeds" for lunch), Fairhaven, or driving to a view point at Mount Erie, there are never ending sites to see. But it is always nice to return to a warm and cozy environment with all the comforts of home.

I may never enjoy my own single head shower stall again as I have been spoiled.

We highly recommend ...

November 2010

This has been a wonderful place for a mom and 3 daughters to get together for a few days! We are all so driven in this busy world that it was challenging to make it work and get all of us in the same place at the same time-- but it was so worth it! We loved staying in this home, with its lovely view, and the terrific windows letting in so much light. Everything we needed was here, and we really appreciated being welcomed with a few lights on and a cheerful vase of fresh flowers when we arrived in the dark of the evening on a stormy November day. Thanks for the kind hospitality. We highly recommend the Bread Farm's shop in Edison for it's wonderful organic breads. Apple bread--the best!

We don't want to leave!

November 2010

This was the perfect getaway for us. We hope so much that we get the opportunity to come back!

Samish Island is such an amazing place... thank you so much for making it work for us!

We had a power outage while we were here--but all the windows and fireplaces made it so cozy-- we don't want to leave!

...what's not to love?

August 2010

Thank you for providing such a comfortable, tranquil and beautiful home. We love it here! With the stunning views, great yard and well-appointed home, what's not to love? We saw seals and herons and hawks a plenty. Mt. Baker, Orcas and the Canadian
Rockies beyond all revealed themselves during these clear August days. The little town of Edison is beyond charming. And the Oyster Bar on Chuckanut Drive is our new favorite restaurant! We'd never heard of Samish Island before, but we leave here with Samish firmly established as a special place in our hearts and minds.

July 2010

This place is as beautiful as in the photos; but the thing we appreciate most is the slowing down of time in such a beautiful setting. The Pacific Northwest is best.

The house, the view, the wildlife, the weather all superb.

June 2010

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here at the Sandpiper. The house, the view, the wildlife, the weather all superb. We took several fun day trips to Bellingham, Friday Harbor, LaConner, and the Padilla Bay Estuary.-- our kids 6, 4 and 2 had a great time. We loved walking down to Blaus for some clams to steam. The sunsets, the herons, walks out to the tide pools--wonderful.

Thank you.

The sunsets are out of this world.

June 2010

Reached the end of a journey here at Bellingham and the Sandpiper! It's our second stay here and we loved it! The sunsets are out of this world. Watching families go out on Sunday morning to go clamming... how special. What a different culture.

As we leave we wonder if we will be back but it will always be a special place in our hearts.

What started out being a holiday...turned into something quite magical!

June, 2010

Mere words could never express the appreciation felt for being allowed the time spent here at the Sandpiper!!

The healing vibration that surrounds this home and community is amazing! Pure essence of tranquility, peaceful Mother Nature at her finest...

It should not go without saying what a much needed holiday this was for me! After a cancer diagnosis in 2006, thought after cancer treatment everything in time would return to somewhat "normal!" Now, since Christmas my health continues to decline, the only answer given by my team of physicians being there is nothing we can do for you, except make you comfortable. This little cottage and all the beauty inside and out has made a huge difference in my health, as well as my mental outlook!

What started out being a holiday to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday, 10 years anniversary turned into something quite magical! Thank you!
